We are looking for a talented Senior Consultant (Public Affairs, Engagement, Property) to play a key role in our vibrant office in central Manchester.

The successful applicant will work with a fantastic variety of clients, providing support across public affairs, corporate communications and engagement. Our core business is providing strategic advice and services across real estate and property, including energy, housing, transport and infrastructure.
We need excellent copy writers and terrific communicators, able to express themselves confidently and articulately. Agency and inhouse experience are both warmly welcomed. Experience of property communications, including community and stakeholder engagement, is desirable but not essential.

About the role
Lexington is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Financial Controller to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll take ownership of financial control, reporting and finance operations across multiple entities — working closely with the CFO, CEO and wider leadership team to provide the financial insight that supports strategic decision-making.
It's a hands-on role for someone who's equally comfortable operating strategically and getting into the detail, within a fast-paced professional services environment.
Key responsibilities
Financial control: Monitor and reconcile accounts in Deltek across multiple companies, keeping financial information accurate, complete and current.
Month-end reporting: Support the CFO in producing monthly management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis for leadership and the parent company.
Budgeting & forecasting: Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and financial insight to drive business performance.
Cash & banking: Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, manage cashflow, authorise payments and report to key stakeholders.
Payroll & benefits: Manage payroll, pensions and employee benefits, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, HMRC submissions and pension contributions.
Tax & compliance: Prepare, reconcile and submit VAT returns, maintaining ongoing statutory compliance.
Audit & external relationships: Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and other professional bodies to support annual audits and statutory reporting.
Financial operations: Maintain journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation schedules and fixed asset registers while upholding strong financial controls.
Business partnering: Work with senior stakeholders across the business, providing financial insight to support commercial decisions.
Team support: Guide and support junior finance team members, collaborating across the wider finance function.
Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting as the business grows.
About you
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience
Strong experience in financial control, management accounting and reporting
Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
Confident managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Advanced Excel user with solid financial systems experience
Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable but not essential
