Advisers to the FA
The Brief
Lexington has provided public affairs, government
relations, communications and strategic advisory support
to the FA, now the world’s oldest football authority.
The Action
We’ve been supporting the FA with strategic intelligence to
help them navigate the operating landscape more
effectively.
Our collaboration with FA colleagues has focused on
building on the legacy of the Lionesses’ Euros win, with a
particular emphasis on improving access to girls’ football
in schools.
Lexington has also worked closely with the CEO and Chair
on reputation management, advising on national issues
such as the LGBT protests during the Qatar World Cup and
ensuring appropriate recognition of events in Gaza at
Wembley.
The Impact
Our ongoing support has helped the FA secure multiple
multi-million-pound government funding packages for
grassroots football across successive fiscal events.
We’ve played a key role in helping the FA maintain its
leadership in the policy space supporting public advocacy
on landmark legislation like the Online Safety Bill and the
Football Governance Bill, and ensuring the organisation
engages effectively with Parliament and across two
administrations. This has included preparing senior leaders
for Select Committee appearances and other high-level
political engagement.
Lexington has also been instrumental in delivering the FA’s
campaigns on equal access and the women’s game. Most
recently, we supported the launch of the Made for This
Game campaign, which achieved unprecedented
engagement from MPs and political stakeholders.
