Case study
IAG
Supporting via public affairs activity to include engagement with national and regional governments.
The Brief
Lexington has partnered with British
Airways/International Airlines Group for over 20 years,
aiming to shape Government policy—fiscal, transport,
and environmental—to support a competitive UK
aviation market. We deliver weekly insights and
analysis to IAG/BA senior leaders, led by former
Government advisers and policy experts, helping them
navigate the political landscape and inform Group
strategy. Each year, our senior team co-develops a
comprehensive strategy with IAG aligned to their
broader business goals.
The Action
We manage an engagement programme designed to
maintain relationships with senior officials, ministers
and special advisers in the DfT, Treasury and No.10 to
explain the wider economic and social value that
network airlines like BA offer from a hub, provide expert
input to shape policy development and explain the
impact that policy changes would have on the
business.
The Impact
We regularly support IAG to engage effectively with
national and regional governments. Scotland is one of
IAG’s largest markets, so we have cultivated strong
relationships across all levels of the Scottish
Government. We also have strong ties to MPs and
regional leaders in areas where BA fly to including
Manchester and Newcastle.
